Doctor results and update

Sorry for not posting this week. I've been busy with life stuff and, of course, editing Book 2.

For those who have been following me on Twitter and Facebook, you know I have been having some medical issues over the past few months. I am overwhelmed by the love and support you have offered me. It means a lot. Many of you, I know, have no idea what was going on with me and offered prayers and love. Thank You so much. Now, I will tell you.

In December, after much consideration, worry, and fears, my hubby and I wanted to try again to have a baby. (If you don't know what happened the first time, read this). All of a sudden my body started going out of whack. I went to my OBGYN and found out I had a 5cm cyst on one of my ovaries. I had bloodwork to rule out some initial worries. Everything came back normal. Doctor wanted me to change my diet and see if things improved.

After six weeks, complete diet change, and some weight loss (YAY!), the cyst didn't get smaller. The next step was to see if it was cancerous. While there, I mentioned some pressure in my neck that I've been struggling with recently and she noticed some swelling in my neck, so I needed to get that checked out.

Since I'm hypoglycemic, seemingly having thyroid problems, and the cyst, my primary care doc is concerned with all of that being linked. I had to get an ultrasound of my throat, a thyroid scan (where I could've sworn things were crawling in my neck as I had to lay perfectly still), and an uptake. Good news is thyroid is normal. Bad news is the pressure is still there. I had so much bloodwork recently, causing me to look like a drug addict. Some bruises still linger. More good news is the bloodwork was all normal, and I don't have cancer. YAY! Next step is to see an Endocrynologist to hopefully connect some dots, do more tests, and fix my body, so I can hopefully be a mommy one day. *crossing fingers*

Next Week, is Meridienne Drake's birthday on June 21. Got some fun stuff planned for that, but it's also my brother's wedding week, so it will be crazy. :o)

Today, June 14 is Flag Day. Also, it's the United States Army's Birthday. So, Happy Birthday, Army. We Love Y'all for everything you do and give for our freedom.

I have a post planned for our Family Fun Frenzy last weekend. We went to a great restaurant as usual. It's hard to find a terrible restaurant in New Orleans. I'll fill you in with pictures soon.

Ta Ta For Now.
Lots of <3,

  1. My cousin had a lot of problems with cysts, too. She went through reams of tests, had cysts removed several times, looked into invitro methods and eventually felt she'd never be a mom. Her husband left her as a result and, fortunately, she found a much better life partner. Believing she would never have kids, they bought a tiny one-bedroom house together. Low and behold, if she didn't end up pregnant! Twice! They had to find a bigger house. Her kids are all grown up now, her youngest graduating high school soon, but it all goes to show, you just never know. Hope you have a happy ending like this. Best of luck and hope your health improves. :)

    1. Thanks so much for sharing and well wishes. *crossing fingers for happy endings* :o) I don't doubt that I will be a mom, some way, somehow. Whatever it takes. First, I know that I need to take care of myself before I can take care of a little one.

  2. Jessica,

I just met you on Twitter and linked back to your blog through your comment on my own. I'm glad to hear tests are showing no cancer and hope you'll get some answers soon! I'll keep you in my prayers and keep checking back here for news.

    God bless you!

    1. Thanks for your kind words. Because of my lil brother's wedding. I am putting doctor visits on hiatus until next week. Ugh! The dread. Ready for my carefree weekend.
